We were given the chance to design a compact house for foamily of five in Levittown, New York. We were given maximum of 1,250 square feet area to design. In total, my design came out to 1,200 square feet for the main house and296 square feet for the attached garage. I strategically placed the house on the site to face Red Maple Drive. I chose this placement so that there was more space for the backyard for entertaining. I designed a primary bedroom with and attached full bathroom, secondary bedroom with a bunk bed for two children, and third bedroom with a full size bed for the last child. The children share a full bathroom from the hallway which guests have access too. The visit able design requirements were to have a zero-step entry, accessible bathroom, and paths of travel and egress on main level. There's a main entrance as well as a side entrance to the back.
